Today’s thank you post goes to a whole bunch of some of the loveliest and most amazingly welcoming people I’ve ever met. To each of you, a huge and heartfelt THANK YOU for connecting with me via Twitter/Facebook in the days before we all made our way to NYC. It helped me feel more like I had friends waiting for me in the city and less like a new kid walking into a cafeteria of unfamiliar face. Moving criss cross around the country as a kid equipped me with the ability to put on a brave face and introduce myself to almost anyone, but it’s still nice to feel like you’ve got a figurative hand to hold. And meeting all of you in person? Pshaw. Best thing ever.
THANK YOU to:

There are so many more amazing new friends I could/should list that I met once I got to the conference. But for me, it was huge to have a few pre-AltNYC conversations via Twitter/Facebook, so that I had a few friendly faces to look out for once I arrived. And yes, I totally freaked out about getting myself from Manhattan to Brooklyn for the Bing dinner at Sunday Suppers. Lucky for me, there were several pals staying at the same hotel who threw me a bone and shared a cab over with me. By the time we needed to head out the door, I would have ridden on the roof of the cab just to make sure I could tag along with that well-dressed and fancy bunch of talented ladies. I’ve kept in touch with as many people as possible via Twitter, Facebook and Instagram – so much so that I feel like I know you all a whole lot better than I probably actuall do. I kind of love that I have a whole slew of grown up pen pals. It’s like coming home from camp, but in 140 characters or less.
Thank you so much to all of my new friends – you have inspired me in more ways than I can possibly list! xoxoxox
Stay tuned for Day Three of my #fivedaysofaltnycthanks tomorrow!
